Biography
Emilie Caroline Hannibal was born on 24 April 1846, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her parents were Peder Christian Hannibal (25) and, Sophie Marie Sivertsen (21). At the age of six, she came to America by ship with her parents. They then crossed the plains to get to Utah with the John E. Forsgren wagon company. By the time the family arrived in Utah, Emilie was seven years old. The family settled in Spring City, Sanpete County. Later they moved to Centerville, Davis County, then to Salt Lake City where Emelie stayed, later marrying her husband and raising her own family there.
Emilie married Fredrick August Engelbert Meyer on 8 January 1872, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. They were the parents of at least two sons and five daughters. They were married and sealed by Joseph F. Smith and were very involved in temple work. Emilie died and was buried in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 6, 1918, at the age of seventy-two.
