Biography
Caroline Henrietta Lind was born on August 31, 1857 in Alborg, Denmark. She was the sixth of eleven children. Sometime around 1850, her parents had joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and in 1868, they finally managed to get the resources to take their family to Utah. Caroline was about ten years old when they made the journey with her parents and six living siblings to Utah.
Once they arrived in Utah, Caroline lived briefly in Ephraim with her family before moving to Salt Lake City to work. There, she met David Edward Adams, a man from England. When he was called to settle Arizona in 1876, he asked Caroline to come with him. They were married on January 24, 1876, and moved to Arizona shortly after. While they moved all around Arizona in their settlement efforts, Caroline had thirteen children with David. Shortly after they settled in Graham, Arizona, she became very ill. She had had many health issues during her life, including a lame knee, a broken ankle, and many bouts of sickness. When she came down with typhoid in 1906, she quickly knew it would be fatal. She passed away on September 10, 1906 in Central, Arizona, surrounded by her family and children. She was only forty-nine years old.
