Biography
Charsty Kjersti Christina Larson was born 25 April 1835 in Södra Sallerup, Malmöhus, Sweden to Jens Christian Larson and Anna Catherina Hansdotter. Christina and her family learned of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints while in Sweden and in 1857 left their home in Sweden for America with a group of other immigrants. They left Sweden for Liverpool where they boarded the transatlantic ship the Tuscarora on the 30th of May 1857. On July 3rd 1857 they arrived in Philadelphia. They then journeyed to Nebraska where they waited for two years to travel to Utah because of the Utah War that was blocking their immigration. Records show Christina was married to her first husband, Lars Peterson Jöranasson on July 11, 1858. On June 13th 1859 they left from Florence, Nebraska and arrived in Salt Lake on August 29th 1859.
Charsty and her family spent a short time in Salt Lake but continued onward where they helped settle Moroni, Sanpete, Utah. Christina and Lars were sealed together in Salt Lake in 1863 in the LDS endowment house. Together they had six daughters, Hilda Maria Jorgensen (1861–1934), Emma Christena Yorgensen (1861–1906), Annie Caroline Yorgason (1863–1931), Amanda Matilda Yorgensen (1865–1931), Albertina Josephine Yergensen (1866), Elnora Lorina Yorgason (1868). Lars Peterson Yorgason died on 18 October 1868 in Moroni, Sanpete, Utah, United States. Christina remarried and became the second wife in a polygamist marriage to John Nils Larson on 15 September 1869 in Salt Lake City. Together they had four children, Johanna Elizabeth Larson (1870–1950), George Lawrence Larson (1873–1938), Joseph Walter Larson (1875–1876), and James Franklin Larson (1877–1942)
