Hilma Lindberg

Biography

"Grandmother Lee (Hilma) was only twelve when her father died and she had to go to work. The first place she worked was as a nursemaid of the small children of Mr. and Mrs. King. Mrs. King was a Lyman before she was married. Hilma went to Salt Lake City on the train and by street car to the home of the Kings in Federal Heights to tend their children. She lived there for some time then she came back to Tooele and worked for Mrs. Adams for a while... Hilma was only 18 when they were married... All her life she enjoyed good music and she was very adept with her handwork-knitting, crocheting, embroidering, and quilting." Contributed by Samantha Bullock
