Biography
Ellen was a young girl when her family immigrated to Utah, leaving her older sister Isdred behind who was bitterly opposed to her family's conversion. Her mother adapted quickly to the harsh environment unlike her father who struggled to learn English and died longing for Sweden. Ellen was part of the church choir and met her husband at a social event. When he heard her sing he said “that is the girl I am going to marry.” A few years into their marriage, Charles left on a mission leaving Ellen behind with three little children. She experienced spiritual healing throughout her life including one time when her three year old daughter, Zernym, had appendicitis. After a long night of administration and prayer, the doctor decided she did not need surgery. Ellen died in Los Angeles at the home of her child and was buried in the Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.
