Biography

Born March 3, 1858, in Dalsland, Alvsborg County Sweden to John and Mary Olson. Missionaries found her family as a young girl and she was baptized Feb 20, 1869, by John Quist. She received much persecution from teachers and students and as such at age 14 Anna quit school to work full-time ironing for wealthy people.

She immigrated to Zion with her sister, Matilda, at age 17, arriving in Utah by train on October 10, 1877. She worked for the Rydalch family and then John Anderson earning money to send home.

She married Charles Johnson by Daniel H. Wells in the Endowment House. After their marriage, Charles was able to help her mother, father, and two brothers, Charles and Gus, immigrate to Zion.

She joined the Relief Society in 1886 and served as Counselor and then president.
