Biography

Ingra Olsson was born on November 24, 1836 in Skurup, Malmöhus, Sweden. She was the fifth of six daughters, five of which lived into adulthood. In the 1850s, Ingra, three of her sisters, and her mother Kjerstina all were baptized members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Despite familial opposition and financial difficulties, in 1863 Ingra, Elisa, and Johanna followed their younger sister Hanna to Utah and joined the Saints there. Eventually they were joined by their mother and father in Mount Pleasant, Utah.

In 1868, Ingra married Peder Nielsen, a Dane. She died on September 19, 1915 in Mount Pleasant, Utah, and is buried in the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery.
