Biography
Martha Marie Outzen was born on September 15, 1864 in Randers, Denmark. She was the seventh of thirteen children. In 1870, her family emigrated to Utah to be with other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived briefly in Parowan before settling in Richfield, Utah.
When she was eighteen, on December 6, 1882, Martha married John Ogden, with which she had two children. He died in 1887, leaving Martha a widow at only twenty-three. Two years later, on February 28, 1889, Martha married again, a man named William Orrock. With him, she had four more children. She also raised his seven children by his previous wife. In addition, when her son's wife passed away, she raised two of her grandchildren. Martha passed away on August 19, 1929 in Richfield, Utah. She was survived by all six of her children.
