Biography
Jessiephina Alimeena Outzen was born on April 1, 1870 in Randers, Denmark. She was the eleventh of thirteen children. Shortly after her birth, in July, her parents took her and all of her siblings and emigrated to Utah to be with other members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They lived briefly in Parowan before settling in Richfield.
On September 15, 1894, Jessiephina married George Christian Nelson, the son of two other Danish immigrants. They had six children together, one daughter and five sons. Only three of their children lived to adulthood. Jessiephina died on December 5, 1949 in Salt Lake City, at the age of seventy-nine.
