Biography

When Gustava Amelia Lundström was born on 17 February 1836, in Skurup, Malmöhus, Sweden, her father, Niels Henry Lundstrom, was 33 and her mother, Christina Svensson, was 23. She married Nils Månsson Capson on 5 February 1854. They were the parents of at least 3 daughters. She immigrated to Utah, United States in 1855. She died on 16 August 1914, in Gunnison, Sanpete, Utah, United States, at the age of 78, and was buried in Gunnison Cemetery, Gunnison, Sanpete, Utah, United States.

Gustava was only 17 when she immigrated from Sweden to Utah with the Jacob F. Secrist Company. That same year, Gustava married Nils Månsson Capsson, who was a Swed from her hometown in Malmöhus. He died on September 10, 1863, in Virgin, Utah. There are no known facts as to what Gustava did for a living, or the level of education she received, but one can assume she was busy settling parts of southern Utah with her family. Throughout her life, Gustava lived in Malmöhus, Sweden, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Gunnison, Utah.
