Biography

Anne was born on November 16, 1800 in Voldby, Aarhus, Denmark. She was the fourth of eight children. In 1827 and 1831, Anne had two daughters, Maren and Hansine, with Niels Nielsen. She later married Niels in 1842 in Skanderborg, Denmark. Sometime before 1857, Anne and her family learned about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and were baptized. In 1857, they emigrated to the United States. Anne traveled with her husband, her daughter Hansine, and a grandson, the son of her daughter Maren. It is unknown if Maren also came with to the United States.

In 1858, in Iowa, on the way West, Anne's husband Niels died. They waited another year for Hansine's fiance to emigrate from Denmark before crossing the plains to Utah. Anne settled with her daughter and her husband in Utah. They first lived in Bountiful before settling in Weston, Idaho. Anne passed away in Weston on February 24, 1886.
